Since the beginning of the 20th century substance use/misuse has been one of the most serious problems in western societies. My research is related to substance use/misuse and especially is concerned with cue reactivity, that is, how the user/ex-user reacts to environmental cues that have been associated with the positive reinforcing effects of the substance. Most important, I am studying the relationship between cue-reactivity and personality factors such as impulsivity both in non-clinical and clinical populations.
